Honey
Oour honey, from an Apitherapy company in West Wales, is unfiltered, cold pressed wildflower honey, full of local Pollens, traces of Propolis (known as Myrrh in the past) and beneficial Enzymes.
The bees make honey from the nectar that they gather, making it one of the oldest and most revered foods known to man. The medicinal properties of honey were well known to the Ancient Greeks and Egyptians, and recent medical research and practice has confirmed the excellence of honey in accelerating the healing of wounds and burns.
Honey is mainly a mixture of glucose and fructose, and is therefore an excellent energy source. Honey has been shown to have bactericidal, anti-allergenic, anti-inflammatory, and expectorant properties. It is used in the treatment of wounds and burns because of its excellent anti-bacterial properties which are due to the presence of hydrogen peroxide and its hygroscopic nature. Honey has been eaten for thousands of years, but caution must be taken in the case of individuals who may be allergic to raw honey, and it is not recommended that honey is fed to infants under 12 months.
There are many conditions that may be helped by honey, these include:-
Anaemia, Anorexia, Bed sores, Bronchial asthma, Bronchitis, Burns, Cardiac disease, Cataract, Cirrhosis, Constipation, Convalescence, Coronary heart disease, Cough, Dental Caries, Dermatitis, Eczema, Enteritis, Flu, Gastric disorders, Gastroduodenal Ulcer, Hay fever, Hormonal imbalances, Insomnia, Laryngitis, Leg Ulcers, Mood swings, Osteoporosis, Pharyngitis, Piles, PMT, Rhinitis, Scalds, Sexual hormone deficiency, Sinusitis, Skin problems, Sore throats, Stomach Ulcers, Sunburn, Tuberculosis, and Wounds.
